The goal of the Jordan River and Dead Sea Basin Forum (JAD) is to develop a sustainable regional approach to the development of the Jordan River and Dead Sea Basin watershed that is shared by Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority.
Together with the international support of the University of Oxford JAD has set up a regional steerring committee and has identified and implemented a number of projects and intiatives in the fields of water resources management, agriculture, energy and tourism. The key driver for the success of JAD is to not only identify projects but to implement them as well.
Many regional intiatives have failed in the past because of the difficulty of transitioning from problem identification to implementation. The exceedingly close cooperation of the regional partners in JAD over many years has allowed for a measurement of success already in its early stages.
